founded in 2015 by toshiaki and yukari watanabe, cottle is based in kojima, japan — the historic heart of japanese denim. working from a 130-year-old restored textile factory, they create garments with a deep respect for craft, tradition, and material.
each piece is made in-house by a small team using natural dyes, original hemp-cotton fabric, and a slow, intentional approach to design. guided by values of dignity, care, and responsibility, cottle offers clothing meant to be worn and appreciated over time.
